Yes, you can sideload 3rd-party apps on the Amazon Fire TV Cube

Whenever a new Fire TV model is released, there’s always someone looking for explicit confirmation that Amazon hasn’t done anything to thwart sideloading third-party apps like Kodi. Here is that confirmations. Yes, you can sideload apps onto the Amazon Fire TV Cube the exact same way as you can on all other Fire TVs, Fire TV Sticks, and Fire TV Edition televisions. The same developer options are available to enable apps from unknown sources and to enable ADB debugging. Sideloaded apps appear on the home screen and in the usual app lists on the Fire TV Cube, just as they do on other Fire TV devices. You can also launch sideloaded apps hands-free by saying “Alexa, scroll down” while on the home screen and calling out the sideloaded app by number, as seen in the screenshot above. For detailed instructions on how to sideload apps, see this guide.

    Thanks was wondering about sideloading.

Question, I understand that the cube comes with the Ethernet adapter.

Do you know if the Ugreen Ethernet Adapter with the USB ports 3ea will also work with the cube. Reason I ask, many sideloaded apks require a keyboard to operate properly. Maybe the mouse toggle may work also?

    Thanks for your reviews

Hi, the Android App – STBEMU (PRO) is not loading on Cube, but I have been using it on both FTV V2 and V3 for months. I have tried same and different versions of STBEMU, was able to install and opened it first time, but it doesn’t load/open after that.

Can you think of any variable or unique on Cube, compared to FTV2/FTV3?

    Please advice.

    Thanks in advance.

I thought that everyone who like me, recently bought the new FireTV CUBE, would like to know, that I just received an email from iostouchdev, the developer of the “Mouse Toggle for FireTV” application, with really great news:

    “Hi there,
I just received a Fire TV Cube a few days ago and just resolved the issue.
So there will be a update available in the next few days that will have support for the Fire TV Cube.
    Thank you”

      Good News…

Today iostouchdev, the developer of the Mouse Toggle for FireTV has just released in the Google-Play-Store a New Version 1.11 of the application, that finally supports the New FireTV CUBE and FireTV Edition models!

Now the Mouse Toggle application works perfectly on FireTV CUBE, and I would dare to say that it is much better and more accurate than before.

Thanks again iostouchdev for fixing so Quickly the problem with the New FireTV CUBE!

Forgot to mention that unfortunately the Mouse Toggle APP is not available from the Amazon APP Store, so you will have to buy it from the Google Play Store…

HI, I just saw in the Google Play store the STB Emu v 1.1.6 and it reads compatible with Fire Tv Cube in the whats new section.
If anyone has it working let me know so I can order it too.
    Thanks
