Xiaomi releases Mi Box 4S Max in China with 64GB of drool-worthy internal storage

Xiaomi is continuing to iterate on its Mi Box lineup and has recently released the latest version, the Mi Box 4S Max, in China, via 9to5Google and APCTV. While the outside looks the same as past models, the inside has been upgraded with 4GB of RAM and a hefty 64GB of internal storage. It’s powered by an Amlogic S905X3 quad-core CPU at 1.5GHz and Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. While it does not have AV1 codec support, it is capable of playing 8K video. Xiaomi lists the Mi Box 4S Max on its site for 499¥, which is about $75. Before thinking that’s a steal of a price and wanting to import one in, it surely doesn’t have the necessary credentials to watch Netflix, Prime Video, or other western streaming services. Xiaomi has made global versions of its Mi Box devices in the past, but there is no word on whether this variant will be available outside of China.

S905x3 in 2022? No av1? Not to be taken seriously.

$75 is not really a steal considering that you can pre order a rock pi 5
for just $4 more with the same RAM
The new rockchpip 3588 is an absolute beast and the board has HDMI in
    I preorderd the 8gb for $99.00
sure you will need to buy a wifi card and some storage and a case
but the difference in performance is crazy
