Critically-acclaimed director Woody Allen has signed on to write and direct his first television series ever for Amazon. The untitled project will be a half-hour series which, without seeing a single episode or announcing a single casting decision, has already received a full season order from Amazon. Woody Allen himself said “I don’t know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin.”

Amazon Studios is on a roll lately. They just received a double Golden Globe win for Transparent. Their latest release, Mozart in the Jungle, is receiving rave reviews. And they just signed Guillermo del Toro to do a dark fantasy TV series. The future is looking great for exclusive Amazon content.
