USA Network has just announced the upcoming release of their Amazon Fire TV app in a unique way. They’ve released a USA NOW: Coming Soon app to tide fans over in the interim until the full app is ready. The interim app features clips, interviews, and behind-the-scenes video of USA shows. There’s no indication of when the full app will arrive, but if their apps on other platforms are any indication, you can probably expect to have to login with a cable provider to watch full length episodes.
Having to sign in via a cable provider for a cable-only channel, I get. Having to sign in via a cable provider for a broadcast affiliate [network/OTA] channel, I don’t get; though that’s what the broadcast networks are requiring these days–often if not always. Just makes me not want to watch their shows at all.
It’s been like that for many years. It is nothing new.
Because Cable Companies have to pay Broadcast networks to carry their channels, which was a terribly FCC policy.
Is this a new/updated FTV channel? I’ve had USA Network on my FTV for many months now, works fine. (I did have to authenticate with my provider) Maybe I side loaded it… I don’t remember.
You must have sideloaded it. This app is new and there has never been an official US Network Fire TV app.
Does this mean it may get SyFy since both are part of NBC Universal?
How can I activate my Fire TV to use USA? I don’t have a tv provider, I only stream. I have a cable co. for my internet. Help please, egwene11@hotmail.com, Kiran McLaughlin
