TikTok releases fully-featured app for select Android TV / Google TV streaming devices

TikTok has just released their first fully-featured app for streaming media players. While TikTok did release a Fire TV app last year, it was just a promotional app that contained some of their compilation videos. This new app TikTok app is the real deal, with nearly all of the same functionality as their mobile app, including video feeds, profiles, login, categories, and comments. The caveat is that access to the app is only available on a small number of Android TV / Google TV devices in only a few countries, however, the app can be easily sideloaded and does work on Fire TVs.

The new TikTok app for streaming devices is available in the Google Play Store but only in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. It’s also only available on a small number of devices, which includes the 2020 Chromecast and select Smart TVs running Android TV.

If you want to install the TikTok app in other countries or on other devices, you can sideload it by using the Downloader app and entering 2130 (or aftv.news/2130) in the URL field of the app. You can find more detailed instrucitons for sideloading here if you need them. The app does fully work on Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV Edition devices.

    Thanks for this!
    Downloaded and installed just fine.

Ran into a problem logging in.
Both QR code and activation code methods gave the error message
“TikTok TV is not available for your region”.
Live in California and bought FireTV 4k on Amazon US store.

Any suggestions on how to fix?
