TCL announces its first-ever Fire TV Smart TVs — The TCL CF6 Series with 4K QLED in 50″ & 55″ sizes

TCL has announced its first-ever Fire TV Smart TV models. Having one of the largest and most well-respected names in TVs onboard to make Fire TV Smart TVs is a massive win for Amazon and the Fire TV lineup. TCL is kicking off its partnership with Amazon with the release of its new TCL CF6 Series Fire TV Smart TVs in Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. These Fire TVs will come in 50-inch and 55-inch sizes and feature 4K QLED screens and support for all the top HDR standards, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

These new CF630F model TCL Fire TVs use a metallic frameless design and feature TCL’s “Game Master” capability which includes auto low latency mode over HDMI 2.1 connections. Their Quantum Dot 4K panels combine with support for the top HDR standards to offer what TCL calls HDR Pro for “great contrast, shadow detail, and vivid accurate colors.”

Around the back you’ll find 4 HDMI ports with support for eARC as well as optical audio out. Connectivity includes WiFi 5 802.11ac, Ethernet, and Bluetooth. These TVs also include a pair of USB ports for peripherals and accessing external media. Under the hood is a quad-core processor, which is very likely the same one used on nearly all Fire TV Smart TVs, but those spec details haven’t been published yet.

Hope they do a better job at the 50 than Hisense did. My Hisense 50U6HF is to be picked up Monday in lieu of the Toshiba 55M550KU that was delivered this morning. The Hisense can’t hold a candle to the M550KU when it comes to picture quality. At least for us, it can’t. It will be interesting to see what flavor TCL FireTV the USA will be getting. I see the M550 line in Europe has all the bells and whistles including QLED. Wonder if a FireTV model for the USA will be released.
Anyway, lots of competition out there for your FireTV dollars. I think TCL will do well in this field.
