Dallas Cowboys release their own dedicated Amazon Fire TV app with live streams

The Dallas Cowboys have just released their own dedicated app for all Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition television models. This app is significant because I believe it’s the first time a professional sports team has taken it upon themselves to bring content directly to their fans on the Fire TV, instead of relying on their league’s all-encompassing app, and boy is it a lot of content. The Cowboys Now app offers free access to live streams of pre- and post-game shows, as well as live daily video podcasts and live press conference streams. The app also has a ton of on-demand content like news shows, documentaries, and studio shows. While many leagues seem to be slow to adopt streaming media and continue to rely on cable and broadcast television for their content, it’s refreshing to see a team go directly to their fans with their own app.
