The SmartThings hub can control a large array of smart home devices, both from Samsung themselves as well as other manufacturers. The hub works with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant and acts as a relay between Alexa and many devices that don’t yet work directly with Alexa.
All of Samsung’s SmartThings products are currently on sale at 20% off. These products are compatible with Alexa on the Fire TV and Echo, allowing you to control them with your voice. The SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit is currently $199 and a good starters kit. Although, if you’re not interested in the sensors and just want to control lights and appliances, you’re probably better off buying the SmartThings Hub and SmartThings Outlets separately.
