Amazon Luna cloud gaming arrives on LG TVs and is possibly coming to more Samsung TVs

At the start of the year, it was announced that LG smart TVs would be gaining support for Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service with a native app. It appears as though that app has finally arrived in the US, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Amazon’s Luna compatibility page has been updated to indicate that LG smart TV models from 2021, 2022, and 2023 are compatible with Luna. If you don’t have a Bluetooth game controller, like the official Luna Controller, you can give the service a try with the virtual controller in the Luna phone app. On a somewhat related note, Samsung added support for Luna to its 2021 and newer smart TVs a year ago, but now it’s looking like support might also be coming to 2020 models in the near future.

Apple is putting iTunes and AirPlay on Samsung TVs

Samsung has announced that their 2018 and 2019 TVs will be gaining an Apple iTunes app as well as support for AirPlay 2, the latest version of Apple’s proprietary casting protocol. This marks the first time that Apple iTunes content has ever been available on non-Apple hardware, outside of Windows PCs. The Samsung SmartThings Hub is on sale for $49.99 on Amazon. That’s the lowest price this hub has ever been. The SmartThings hub can control a large array of smart home devices, both from Samsung themselves as well as other manufacturers. The hub works with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant and acts as a relay between Alexa and many devices that don’t yet work directly with Alexa.
