You can still get Prime Day sale prices if you order through Alexa

Prime Day is over, but if you missed out on a deal, Amazon is still offering several of the same discounts if you shop through Alexa. Just say “Alexa, order [item]” to hear if the Prime Day price is still available. You’ll be asked if you want to actually order the item after hearing the current price, so there’s no need to worry about accidentally ordering something at full price. Here is a list of items still available at a discount through Alexa. On the list are the Fire TV Stick for $19.99, the Fire TV Cube for $89.99, and more.

Update

Looks like extended Prime Day deals through Alexa was only available for one day and has now ended.

Amazon Fire TV Stick retakes the throne as the best selling product during Prime Day

As Amazon does every year, they’ve released some info highlighting how successful Prime Day was for them this year. Sales figures this Prime Day surpassed all other days in the past for Amazon, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and last year’s Prime Day. On top of it all was the Amazon Fire TV Stick as the single best selling product of the day. The Fire TV Stick reached this same achievement during Prime Day in 2016, but was dethroned during last year’s Prime Day by the Amazon Echo Dot. Amazon never reveals exactly how many units were sold but has said that “millions” of Fire TV devices were sold, with July 16th being “the best day ever for Fire TV devices.” Another Fire TV related milestone is that Prime Day’s sale on the Toshiba Fire TV Edition television made it “the best-selling TV deal in Amazon history.” Amazon says that they sold over six times as many Fire TV Edition televisions during this Prime Day as they did during last year’s record-setting Fire TV Edition sale on Prime Day.

NVIDIA Shield TV w/ Remote & Game Controller is $154.99 from Best Buy through eBay

There is currently a promotion where eBay will take $25 off any purchase of $110 or more when you use promo code PRIMO119 during checkout. Since Best Buy is selling the NVIDIA Shield TV w/ Remote & Controller on eBay for $179.99, applying the promo code PRIMO119 brings the price down to $154.99. That’s $5 off the regular price of $199.99 and is the new lowest price that game controller bundle has ever been. Amazon is currently still running a lightning deal on the Shield TV w/ Remote Only for $139, which is a great price and the lowest any Shield TV has ever been, but if you can want a game controller, you can get one for just $16 through the eBay deal. Thanks Joe for the tip!

SiliconDust HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO on sale for $69.99 and CONNECT QUATRO on sale for $99.99 — Compatible with Fire TV

The SiliconDust HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO is on sale for $69.99 and the HDHomeRun CONNECT QUATRO is on sale for $99.99 at Best Buy. The former is $30 off its regular price, while the latter is $50 off. These are both the lowest prices that I’ve seen, but I don’t follow this product too closely, so it may have been cheaper in the past. HDHomeRun is a device that allows you to watch over-the-air channels through your Fire TV and other streaming devices. It’s essentially like a network connection for your HD antenna. You can use the official HDHomeRun app for Fire TV to view the content, or use a number of other supported apps, like the Channels app, MrMC, or Plex. The difference between the DUO and QUATRO is that the DUO has 2 tuners, while the QUATRO has, as you may have guessed, 4 tuners. The number of tuners determines how many channels you can watch or record simultaneously.

NVIDIA Shield TV is on sale for $139 — New Lowest Price Ever

The NVIDIA Shield TV with Remote has gone on sale for $139 for Prime Day. At $40 off the regular price, this is the lowest price that the Shield TV has ever been. This is easily the best streaming box that runs the official Android TV operating system. It has a powerful CPU that can breeze through any task you throw at it and a GPU that is unrivaled by any other streaming device for great gaming capabilities. This discount is a Lightning Deal that has limited quantity and it will surely sell out, so be sure to get your order in quickly if you’re interested. This unit comes with a remote control, but if you also want a game controller, there is the Shield TV with Remote & Game Controller that is also on sale for $179.99.

Eufy Genie Smart Speaker with Alexa on sale for $17.33

The Eufy Genie Smart Speaker is on sale for $17.33 for Prime Day. This price is about $15 off the retail price. The lowest I’ve seen the Eufy Genie go for in the past is $19.99, so this is the new lowest price that it has been. You can read my review of the Eufy Genie, but it’s essentially an Echo Dot clone. It sounds slightly better than an Echo Dot, but is missing Alexa features like calling/messaging that are only found on Echo devices. It also does not have Bluetooth, so it can’t be paired with a phone. If you already have multiple Echo devices, you’ll probably be happier spending the extra money and getting an Amazon Echo Dot for $29.99 instead. But if you want to try out a smart speaker for the first time without spending too much, the Eufy Genie is a good choice.

50″ Toshiba Fire TV Edition television has Sold Out — 43″ still available for $249.99

The 50″ Toshiba Fire TV Edition television has Sold Out. Oddly, instead of being listed as unavailable, it has been removed entirely from the listing. At $110 off the regular price, the $289.99 price for the 50″ size was too good to pass up by many. The deal went live in the wee hours of yesterday morning and was available for just over 24 hours. Amazon put the 43″ Toshiba Fire TV Edition television on sale for $249.99 this morning, possibly in anticipation of the 50″ size selling out, and it’s still available for now.
