FLIRC, a USB dongle that adds IR remote support and functionality to the Fire TV, has just gone on sale for $14.95. That’s just $1 more than the lowest price it has ever been. FLIRC is quite elegant in its simplicity. It allows you to use any IR remote control you own to control your Fire TV. You plug it into the USB port of a PC or Mac and select Fire TV on its simple configuration interface. You then point any remote you have at the FLIRC, and teach it what actions to perform on the Fire TV when a particular remote button is pressed. Then just plug FLIRC into the Fire TV’s USB port, and your IR remote will be able to control your Fire TV. FLIRC is compatible with USB hubs, so you’ll still be able to use external storage, keyboards, mice, and other USB devices while the FLIRC is connected.
The Logitech K400 Keyboard with built-in touchpad is on sale for $19.99. This matches the lowest price I’ve ever seen for this great keyboard. It’s touted by many, including myself, to be the best Fire TV keyboard in this price range. This keyboard uses a USB dongle to connect to the Fire TV, so it will not work with the Fire TV Stick.
If you want something a bit more sleek, the Anker Ultra Slim keyboard is just $9.99 after applying promo code ANK50OUT during checkout.
The Amazon Echo has just gone on sale for Prime Day. It’s down $50 off its retail price. The Echo is my favorite Amazon product next to the Fire TV. If you missed out on the $99 pre-order window, here’s your chance to get it for not much more. The advancements and improvements to the Echo have been happening at a faster pace than I’ve seen for any other Amazon product. It seems like every other week it gains new features that add value and expand its capabilities.

Prime Day has kicked off with a pair of heavily discounted Amazon devices. If the Fire HD 7 at $79 isn’t what you’re in the market for, maybe a Kindle for just $49 is more up your alley. This is the lowest price any Kindle sold by Amazon has ever been. This model features a touchscreen and lasts for weeks on a single charge.
Next to the upcoming Fire TV Stick sale, the Fire HD 7 tablet is arguably the next best bargain to come out of Prime Day. The Fire HD 7 is marked $60 off. That’s over 40% off the retail price of $139. The discount also applies to the Kids Edition. This is a killer price and is the lowest price this tablet has ever been. Amazon’s Fire tablets make great companions to the Fire TV or Fire TV Stick. You can fling content from the tablet to your Fire TV and even use it as a companion controller for select Fire TV games. Fire HD tablets are also exclusively the only ones that can download and store Prime video’s for offline viewing. The Fire HD 7 has a better than 720p screen and features a powerful quad-core 1.5GHz processor.
If you happen to also still have one of the $50 off promo codes given to developers, you will be able to use it on this sale price and get a great tablet for the ridiculously low price of $29. Just be sure to click the link in your promo email because the $50 off code only works one a specific configuration.
Here is a partial list of electronics that will be on sale during the Prime Day sale in the US.
