The History Channel’s lineup today is probably not how you remember it. Instead of documentaries and historical fiction series, it’s full of reality TV shows like Pawn Stars and Swamp People. If you yearn for The History Channel of the past, then you’ll be happy to hear that Amazon Prime Video’s newest add-on subscription option is just that. History Vault, the latest addition to Amazon’s lineup up of subscription content, gives you access to hundreds of hours of curated historical video, without any of the reality TV found on the History Channel today. The new add-on subscription costs $4.99 per month and includes a 7-day free trial. For your money you get access to 20 different shows like America: The Story of Us, Vietnam in HD, and Ancient Discoveries.

Amazon originally introduced their add-on subscription options with 30 choices and have added a few more since for the current total of 35 subscriptions to choose from. You must be an Amazon Prime member in order to subscribe to the extra content, which is now fully accessible on the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick thanks to the latest 5.0.5 software update.

Amazon add-on subscription selection now includes CinePride, All Babies Channel, and Nursery Rhymes Club

Amazon has added three more options to their Prime video add-on subscription selection, bringing the total number to 34 different subscriptions. The first new addition is CinePride, a collection of LGBT movies that currently consists of 27 films. CinePride will run you $3.99 per month and offers a 14-day free trial. The other two new additions are collections of children’s programming. All Babies Channel offers 30 short animated clips for $2.99 per month with a 30-day free trial and Nursery Rhymes Club similarly offers 50 short children’s clips for the same $2.99 per month price and can also be tried free for 30 days.

Amazon gains Paula Deen add-on subscription for Prime Video

It’s been a little over a week since Amazon launched their new Prime video add-on subscription service with an initial selection of 30 subscriptions to choose from. That number has grown by one todayw ith the addition of a new Paula Deen Network. The new optional network will run you $4.99 per month, after the initial 7-day free trial, if you plan to subscribe. Included is access to around a dozen shows which include 19 seasons of various Paula Deen cooking shows like Paula’s Home Cooking, and One Pot Paula. All of the included programming is brand new to Amazon video and was not available in any other way prior to this new network subscription option.
