Insignia releases new high-end quantum dot QLED 4K Fire TV Smart TVs for 2021

Amazon and Best Buy have announced an all-new series of high-end 2021 Insignia Fire TV Smart TVs for the US and Canada. What sets these apart from past Fire TV Smart TVs, and make them the new best models with regard to picture quality, is the use of quantum dot QLED technology, which is a first for any Fire TV Smart TV. These 4K TVs, available in 50″, 55″, 65″, and 70″ sizes, also support Dolby Vision HDR, which, while has been available on Toshiba Fire TVs, is a first for an Insignia model. Read more ›

Insignia releases new 2021 Fire TV Edition televisions with larger screens & increased resolution for non-4K models

Insignia, which is Best Buy’s house brand, has released a new batch of Fire TV Edition televisions as 2021 models. Like their predecessors, these new TVs run Amazon Fire TV operating system by default, which provides all the same features as a standalone Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, but with extra perks, like integrated over-the-air channels via the built-in tuner. Similar to Toshiba’s new 2021 Fire TV Edition models, which change very little over Toshiba’s 2020 models, these new Insignia TVs are very similar to Insignia’s models from last year but change even less than the Toshiba TVs. In fact, Insignia’s new 4K TVs are identical to previous models. Insignia’s biggest changes this year are found in its non-4K TVs which, finally, replace all 720p panels found in past models with 1080p screens across all sizes, even in the smallest 24-inch TVs. Insignia also increasd the screen size of its largest non-4K TV to 42-inches from 39-inches. Read more ›

Insignia has put their two largest Fire TV Edition televisions on sale. The massive Insignia 70-inch Fire TV Edition TV is on sale for $549.99. That’s $100 off of its regular price of $650. This is the new largest Fire TV television, which was just released about a month ago. Also on sale is the 65-inch version for $449.99, which is also $100 off of its regular price. Both of these current deals are $50 higher than the lowest prices these TVs have ever been, which was during Prime Day last month. If you’re looking for something smaller, the Toshiba 50-inch Fire TV Edition is on sale for $259.99, which matches the lowest price that it has ever been.

Recently released 70-inch Insignia Fire TV Edition TV is on sale for $499.99 — First Sale Ever

Get Insignia 70in Fire TV Edition Deal

That didn’t take long at all. I just wrote about Insignia releasing the first 70-inch Fire TV Edition television last week and now it is on sale for $499.99. This is the first time it has ever been on sale. At $150 off of the regular price of $649.99, this is a pretty good price considering it is the largest Fire TV Edition television that you can buy. Typically, the largest size doesn’t get discounted as much as the smaller sizes, but this 23% discount is more than I would have expected for a first sale. If you want to read about the specs in detail, check out my article from last week, but, in summary, this is a 4K TV running Amazon’s latest Fire OS 7 operating system, based on Android 9 Pie. It supports HDR 10 but does not support Dolby Vision. It runs a quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM, but, like all Fire TV Edition TVs, still only comes with 8GB of internal storage. However, the USB port can be used to expand that internal storage for additional apps on a USB drive, for apps that support being moved. The TV has 3 HDMI ports, 1 of which is an ARC port, Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi, a built-in tuner, and comes with Amazon’s latest Fire TV Edition Alexa voice remote. If you’re looking to upgrade to the ultimate Fire TV Edition television, here’s your chance to save a decent amount. (Thanks for the tip, Charlie!)
