Amazon has kicked off the announcement of Prime Day 2021 with a few early deals on Fire TV Edition televisions that are already live. On sale is the Insignia 24″ 720p for $99.99, the Toshiba 32″ 720p for $129.99, the Insignia 43″ 4K for $219.99, and the Toshiba 50″ 4K w/ Dolby Vision for $309.99. Insignia has put their two largest Fire TV Edition televisions on sale. The massive Insignia 70-inch Fire TV Edition TV is on sale for $549.99. That’s $100 off of its regular price of $650. This is the new largest Fire TV television, which was just released about a month ago. Also on sale is the 65-inch version for $449.99, which is also $100 off of its regular price. Both of these current deals are $50 higher than the lowest prices these TVs have ever been, which was during Prime Day last month. If you’re looking for something smaller, the Toshiba 50-inch Fire TV Edition is on sale for $259.99, which matches the lowest price that it has ever been.
Get Insignia 70in Fire TV Edition Deal
That didn’t take long at all. I just wrote about Insignia releasing the first 70-inch Fire TV Edition television last week and now it is on sale for $499.99. This is the first time it has ever been on sale. At $150 off of the regular price of $649.99, this is a pretty good price considering it is the largest Fire TV Edition television that you can buy. Typically, the largest size doesn’t get discounted as much as the smaller sizes, but this 23% discount is more than I would have expected for a first sale. If you want to read about the specs in detail, check out my article from last week, but, in summary, this is a 4K TV running Amazon’s latest Fire OS 7 operating system, based on Android 9 Pie. It supports HDR 10 but does not support Dolby Vision. It runs a quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM, but, like all Fire TV Edition TVs, still only comes with 8GB of internal storage. However, the USB port can be used to expand that internal storage for additional apps on a USB drive, for apps that support being moved. The TV has 3 HDMI ports, 1 of which is an ARC port, Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi, a built-in tuner, and comes with Amazon’s latest Fire TV Edition Alexa voice remote. They range from 24-inches for $149.99 and up to 55-inches for $429.99, with 32, 39, 43, and 50-inch sizes in between. There are more models this year than in previous years that support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. This is the first time that it has ever been priced this low. In the past, it has never been below $149.99. The Insignia 24″ 720p TV is on sale for $89.99. That price matches its lowest price ever, which has only occurred during very limited sales. If you’re only in the market for a 4K TV, the Insignia 50″ 4K TV is on sale for $279.99. That matches its lowest price as well. These TVs are all running Amazon’s Fire TV operating system, which means you’ll get the same experience from them directly as you would if you plugged in a Fire TV device. Even better, because they have built-in TV tuners, you’ll have access to all of your over-the-air channels directly in the Fire TV interface. This is nearly identical to having a Fire TV recast, except you can’t set recordings.

Specs and review scores on both the Toshiba and Insignia models are identical, so either go with the brand you have more faith in or the one that you think is more aesthetically attractive. Another good deal is the Toshiba 50″ 4K TV on sale for $279.99. That sale is $20 less than it has ever been in the past. Lastly, the largest sizes are both $349.99 for the Toshiba 55″ 4K set and the Insignia 55″ 4K set. Those are both all-time lowe prices as well.
