Fire TV devices are finally getting an official Vudu app

An official Vudu app is finally coming to the Amazon Fire TV appstore, according to Chris Welch from The Verge. Vudu, one of the largest digital video marketplaces with over 150,000 movies and TV shows, has never been officially available on Fire TV devices because it was owned by Walmart, one of Amazon’s largest retail rivals. Walmart sold Vudu to Fandango last year, which removed that barrier for a Fire TV app. Much of Vudu’s library has since been available on Fire TV devices through the FandangoNOW app for Fire TV, but now the entire library will soon be available. The Vudu app for Fire TV is expected to be available in the coming days.
