Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite 2020 is on sale for $21.99

Amazon has just put the Fire TV Stick Lite on sale for $21.99, which is 27% off of its regular price of $29.99. This sale price is just $4 higher than the lowest price that the 2020 Fire TV Stick Lite has ever been. The main difference between the Fire TV Stick Lite and the 3rg-gen Fire TV Stick, which were both released at the same time, is the included remote. The Fire TV Stick Lite has a remote that includes a dedicated button for the Fire TV’s live channel guide, while the Fire TV Stick has a remote that includes power, volume, and mute buttons to control your TV and/or soundbar. The Fire TV Stick Lite is a significant upgrade in performance over the previous 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick and if you already have the better remote with TV controls, you can use that with the Fire TV Stick Lite to achieve a very inexpensive upgrade and not lose any functionality. To learn more about all the other differences between the 3 Fire TV Stick models in Amazon’s current lineup, see this article.

Hulu has just released a new subscription plan for U.S. college students that is just $1.99 per month. That’s 67% off of the regular price of $5.99 per month for the streaming subscription that includes ads. Hulu is not offering students a discount on the ad-free $11.99 per month plan and this student plan cannot be combined with the bundle that includes Disney+. The Hulu student plan allows for 2 simultaneous streams. It’s worth noting that Spotify offers a $4.99 per month student subscription bundle that includes Spotify Premium, Hulu (with ads), and Showtime.

Amazon Echo Studio is on sale for $169.99

The Amazon Echo Studio has just gone on sale for $169.99, which is $30 off of the regular price of $199.99. This sale price is $20 higher than the Echo Studio’s all-time lowest price of $149.99, which we saw during the recent holiday sales. The Echo Studio is Amazon’s flagship smart speaker and has the best audio quality of any Echo that Amazon has ever released. You can pair one or two Echo Studio speakers to a Fire TV Cube (1st or 2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, or Fire TV 3 (pendant) for Dolby Atmos audio, thanks to the Echo Studio’s upward-firing speaker.

Eligible customers can get the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K for $29.99

Amazon has just started a new promotion that allows select customers to buy the Fire TV Stick 4K for $29.99 when you enter promo code 4K21FTV during checkout. At $20 off of the regular price of $49.99, that matches this year’s Prime Day and Black Friday prices. This appears to be a targeted promotion that does not work for all Amazon accounts. For those of you keeping track, this seems to be the new upgrade promotion that replaces the old “4KFIRETV” promo code that, likely by mistake, allowed people to buy the Fire TV Stick 4K for just $4.99 for a few hours in October.

Nvidia Shield TV & Shield TV Pro are currently on sale at their lowest prices ever

Nvidia has put both of their streaming media player models on sale. The regular Shield TV is on sale for $129.99, which is down from its regular price of $149.99. That matches the lowest price that it has ever been, which we last saw during Black Friday last month. The Shield TV Pro is on sale for $179.99, which is down from its regular price of $199.99. While it’s not much of a discount, it is the first time that the Pro has ever been this low. These are both the latest models, which were released just over a year ago. The main differences between the regular Shield TV and the Pro are the extra RAM, 2GB vs 3GB, and the extra storage, 8GB vs 16GB, that you get with the Pro. The Pro also runs a 64-bit OS, which lets you run apps that the regular Shield TV cannot run, like a Plex Server. The Pro also has 2 full-sized USB ports, while the regular Shield TV has a micro SD card slot.

Fire TV Stick Lite is the only Fire TV to remain at Black Friday price — Still just $17.99

Black Friday was a little over a week ago and, as they tend to do most years, Amazon has kept most of their devices on sale through the month of December. Most of the current sale prices aren’t as good as they were around Black Friday, but one device that remains at its Black Friday price is the Fire TV Stick at $17.99. All other Fire TV models, including the Fire TV Stick 4K and the Fire TV Cube, are also on sale, but at a price that is slightly higher than what you could get a week ago. With similar performance as the Fire TV Stick 4K and nearly the same capabilities as the Fire TV Stick 3, the Fire TV Stick Lite is a steal at just $17.99. It’s a great upgrade to older Fire TV Sticks which are starting to show their age, especially so if your current Firestick came with the newer remote. That way you can use your existing better remote with the Fire TV Stick Lite. That lets you retain TV power/volume controls on the remote without needing to buy the more expensive Fire TV Stick 3, since both the Fire TV Stick Lite and Fire TV Stick 3 use identical hardware.

Fire TV Stick & Fire TV Cube buyers in December can get an exclusive discount on Hulu

Amazon and Hulu have teamed up to give new Fire TV buyers a discount on Hulu’s streaming service. Anyone who buys a Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, or Fire TV Cube during December is eligible to save 50% on Hulu’s ad-supported subscription for the first 6 months. That drops the price from $5.99 to $2.99 per month. Read more ›
