If you’re a Prime member and are looking for a new film to watch, consider the newly added Sundance selection. As part of Amazon’s Video Direct platform, they’ve added 15 films from the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Amazon the included films are festival award winners Marjorie Prime and Free and Easy. Amazon has been enticing the festival circuit to participate in Amazon Video Direct, which lets film makers make their productions available on Amazon Video, by offering double royalties and cash bonuses. They’ve secured the rights to 76 festival films this year, so you can probably expect to see additional releases in the months to come.
Amazon has launched its new Amazon Video Direct service which allows content creators to directly upload videos to Amazon’s video platform. Content creators can choose to monetize their videos in several ways, including a revenue sharing model that pays creators based on minutes viewed if they make their content available for free to Amazon Prime subscribers. Content publishers can also choose to be compensated through more traditional means by setting a rental, purchase, or subscription price, as well as a free-with-ads option.
