Best Buy’s Insignia releases new 2022 model budget Fire TV Smart TVs with 720p, 1080p, and 4K resolutions

Best Buy has released a new set of budget Fire TV Smart TVs under its Insignia house brand for 2022. These TVs include 720p and 1080p resolution F20 Series TVs and 4K resolution F30 Series TVs. So far the released sizes include 24, 32, 42, 65, and 70 inch TVs, but there’s evidence of additional sizes yet to be released. Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the 58-inch Hisense 58U6HF QLED 4K U6 Series Fire TV Smart TV at the expected price of $599.99 with a release date of September 15th. Hisense released its first Fire TV Smart TV back in May, the smaller 50-inch version of this same TV, and said a larger version would be coming soon. Apart from being larger, the 58-inch TV shares all the same specs as the 50-inch model which make it one of the best Fire TV Smart TVs available, including Dolby Vision support, a Quantum Dot QLED display with impressive 600 nit peak brightness, Full Array Local Dimming, and a variable refresh rate. Amazon’s lightning deal on its 50″ 4K Fire TV Smart TV sold out in 5 minutes

Amazon has a lot of great deals on its devices during Prime Day this year, many of which are at all-time low prices, but none were better than the 50″ Amazon Fire TV 4-Series 4K Smart TV for $99.99. At an impressive 78% off its regular price of $469.99, it was certainly the deal to get. However, as a lightning deal with limited stock allocated for the rock bottom price, it was pretty obvious that the deal would sell out fast. The sale went live at 6:00 am PT today, as expected, and within 3 minutes the real-time purchase tally indicated that 50% of the TVs were accounted for. Around 6:05 am, just 5 minutes after the deal went live, the purchase count indicated 100% and the deal was sold out. Read more ›

Xiaomi Fire TV Smart TV continues the cookie-cutter trend of having the same internal specs as all other Fire TVs since 2020

After it was revealed that Hisense’s first Fire TV Smart TV had the same specs as every other 4K Fire TV Smart TV from the last two years, I didn’t have much hope for Xiaomi’s first Fire TV Smart TV to be any different. Sure enough, the specs of the Xiaomi F2 Series Fire TV Smart TVs, which were published this morning, are identical to the 2020 Fire TV Smart TVs from Toshiba and Insignia. Under the hood is the same MediaTek MTK T31 Cortex-A55 quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU, Mali-G52 MP1 GPU running at 504 MHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 10/100 Ethernet, and 802.11ac WiFi 5 as all 4K Fire TV Smart TVs released since 2020, regardless of manufacturer. Hisense’s new Fire TV Smart TV shares the same old recycled internal specs as 2 year old Fire TVs

When Hisense announced its first-ever Fire TV Smart TV last month, it was a breath of fresh air to see one of the worlds leading TV manufacturers join the Fire TV lineup. That’s one of the reasons why I called it the most important TV in Amazon’s Fire TV lineup. With impressive screen features like a Quantum Dot screen, Full-Array Local Dimming, a variable refresh rate, high peak brightness, Dolby Vision, and more, this TV was shaping up to be a cut above other Fire TV Smart TV models. Unfortunately, its differences only cut so deep because internal specs revealed today show that, under the hood, the Hisense U6HF Fire TV Smart TVs uses the same old guts that have been common in most Fire TV Smart TVs for the last two years. Why Hisense’s new Fire TV Smart TV is the most important TV in Amazon’s Fire TV lineup

Earlier this week, Hisense announced its first Fire TV Smart TV. The new 4K TV has an impressive list of features, like Dolby Vision HDR support, a high peak brightness, a Quantum Dot screen, Full-Array Local Dimming, a variable refresh rate, and more. On paper, it’s quite possibly the best Fire TV Smart TV as far as picture quality goes. While the TV’s specs are great, they have nothing to do with what makes the Hisense Fire TV Smart TV a huge leap forward for Fire TV and the most important TV in Amazon’s Fire TV lineup. Read more ›
