Tablo makes great networked DVRs that allow you to watch and record over-the-air programming through any Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition television. The standard Tablo for Amazon Fire TV app has been available for years and has received welcomed improvements over that time, but Tablo is now gearing up to refresh the app with a brand new interface. If you own one of their DVRs and want a sneak peek at the new interface, they’ve just released a Tablo Preview app for you to check out. Be sure to keep the existing Tablo app installed because the preview app does not yet have all of the screens and features available through the main app.
Looks like the Roku interface. Wait a minute… did Roku actually get an update BEFORE Fire TV and other platforms? That hasn’t happened in a while!
I noticed in the necessary permissions it states:
Access fine (e.g., GPS) location
Access coarse (e.g., Cell-ID, Wi-Fi) location
What could they need those permissions for?
