Streaming Super Bowl LVII 2023 will be Free without any logins

Fox has confirmed to The Streamable that Super Bowl LVII on February 12th will be available to stream for free without needing any kind of login or account. Anyone will be able to load up the Fox Sports app on a streaming or mobile device. Fox says the game will stream in 4K resolution, but it is yet unknown if it will actually be shot in 4K or just upscaled from 1080p to 4K, as Fox has done in the past.

Last year, when NBC had the rights to broadcast the Super Bowl, it did not provide any free streams despite multiple sources, including Amazon, stating that it would. This caused quite a bit of confusion on game day and it was likely done to force people to sign up for NBC’s Peacock Premium streaming service, where the game could be viewed by paying $4.99/month. Given that both CBS in 2021 and FOX in 2020 streamed the game for free without any authentication requirements, it was expected that NBC would do the same but chose to milk the big event for all it could instead.

Thankfully, Fox has confirmed that it will not be using the big game to push people to sign up for any of its services, like Tubi. You should be able to load up the Fox Sports app on February 12th and stream the entirety of Super Bowl LVII with ease.

Anyone in the US, that is. The streams are likely to be geographically locked, and I believe that downloads of the app are as well.

Although Fox may make 4K streams available to mobile devices, it’s unlikely that most mobile networks will allow their customers to stream at that resolution. 4K streaming to your phone or tablet will be possible if you’re on a WiFi network.

Awesome I noticed the last playoff games streamed for me for free. With all the ads I think it should be free anyway.

But how can we stream “The Puppy Bowl”? Priorities, right?
