Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comes to the Amazon Fire TV

The critically acclaimed game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has made its way to the Amazon Fire TV. This game was first released on the original Xbox and has won numerous awards. It was ported to iOS and Android where it has become a fan favorite once again, garnering a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on both platforms from thousands of reviews. Now, 2 months after making its Android debut, the game has been released for the Fire TV. Extra care has been placed to ensure the game detects the Fire TVs game controller and “adjusts the on-screen prompts to be intuitive for controller input instead of touch.” Rest assured that this is not a slimmed down mobile version of the game. It is the full original game, so expect it to be a slow download and require 2GB to 3GB of storage space.

all these good games coming out and Amazon decides to not allow external storage :(

Really do hope that some future update opens up USB for external storage. Only reason I’d like root access at the minute. Just not enough space on it for storage.

Has anyone tried the game? Does is support whisper sync so I can play on Amazon Fire TV and on my smartphone with the same save states?

Great game – I agree with the others about storage, though 2-3 GB for one game will fill up the storage way too quickly. Amazon, if you’re reading this, you need to natively support external storage via USB!

Apparently, Amazon customer service reps haven’t been getting much feedback regarding the external storage issue.

Please go to an Amazon support page, click Contact Us on the left side and send an email (or chat online with a rep) and make some noise.

Does “patience” mean that you know something about the possibility of external storage! :D i so hope this happens! storage is so cheap i am quite baffled as to why amazon didnt load up the fire TV with 32/64 even 128gb of storage

I received this reply from Amazon support:
    Hello,

I understand that you’re extremely disappointed with the storage space on Fire TV device and you’d like to have the option to increase the Storage space.

That’s definitely not we wanted you to experience and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve had in this case. I’ve checked with our Fire TV Technical team and see that this issue has already been raised and they are currently working hard to resolve this problem in our next software updates.

We have received a remarkable requests to include this convenience and I’d really thank you for taking time and writing to us so that I can point out the severity of the problem. I truly hope that your request might bring these features in our next update.

How about also bypassing the stupid 5 minute annoying message with every new one. There was a way in a few updates back that if you pulled the ethernet cable right after it said registered you would bypass the stupid message but not anymore it does it no matter what.

So annoying to hear the stupid fire tv guy jabber on for 5 minutes. I would assume most people know what it can do after all that is the reason they buy it in the first place because its a great box.

Lol this thing has been out for over a year and external storage has never been mentioned. Anyone who spends more than a day messing with this thing picks up on the fact that the built in storage doesn’t cut it for anything more than watching streaming stuff. I bet there is some issue with them not being able to allow external storage and restrict root access. It’s a big miscalculation on amazons part to not allow external storage hopefully they just cave and let people do it. Anyway time to download this game and play it on my rooted fire tv with 1 terabyte harddrive internal.

Pure speculation here, but I’m guessing Amazon did not expect the Fire TV as popular as this. Personally, I think even without using it for kodi, it’s a very dynamic and flexible unit for $99.

Nm i forgot they amzon fire tv 16, 32 and 64 gigs are coming soon.

  10. Mike says:

Storage on the fire tv is a big issue. I contacted amazon through the contact us page and opened a ticket.

Amazon is looking for feedback so to help solve this problem everyone who can should call. The guy I spoke too had no update but he did forward my info to the engineers.
