Sling TV is coming to all Amazon Echo Show devices

During the reveal of the Echo Show 15 yesterday, Amazon announced that subscribers to Sling TV would soon be able to watch the streaming service on Echo Show devices. Amazon confirmed that all Echo Show models would be able to access the streaming service but has not provided a timeframe for when support would arrive.

Streaming services have been relatively slow to add support for Echo Show devices. The last one to become available on the smart displays was Netflix nearly a year ago. Sling TV will be the 8th streaming service to support Echo Show devices. The others include Prime Video, Hulu, NBC, Tubi, Food Network Kitchen, and Red Bull TV. You can say “Alexa, open video home” to see all streaming service options

Notably, Sling TV will be the first live linear TV streaming service to work on Echo Show devices. While it has been possible to watch live local channels on an Echo Show with a Fire TV Recast, it has not been possible to watch live cable networks. That’ll change once Sling TV support arrives, presumably, later this year.

“All” echo shows as in “all USA” echo shows. You do have international followers ;)

This is welcome news. Can’t come soon enough. I will use my echo show device much more with this feature.
