Sideclick Remote for Fire TV on sale for $19.99 [Expired]

The Sideclick remote for all Fire TV models is on sale for $19.99 at Best Buy. This is the first time I’ve seen this great universal remote available for less than the $29.99 regular price. See my review of the Sideclick for everything you need to know about it, but essentially it’s a strip of programmable buttons that atatch to the Fire TV remote to turn it into a universal remote. I’m a big fan of the device and have been using mine ever since receiving it through its successful Kickstarter campaign. Everything you need to attach it to any of the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick remotes is included in the box, so there’s no need to worry if you’re buying the right one. The Sideclick remote is also available for Roku and Apple TV at the same $19.99 sale price.

Elias, I may have to try this. Do you remember the name of the similar product you reviewed that used the remotes battery cover? I liked that design better so had gotten that one, but the battery cover would always fall off easily for some reason over time to the point I stopped using it.

Thanks for the heads up on this! Went over to Best Buy and bought in the store, where it also rings up for $19.99. Asked the guy who helped me find it if he knew how long they’d be this price and he said probably through tomorrow at least, because their ads change on Sundays.

Bought one at Best Buy on 5/29 for $24.99 and it works well. Will probably buy another since it’s $5 cheaper right now. Thanks.

Can’t replace a Samsung Smart TV remote, which (it turns out) is actually Bluetooth apart from the power button.

Wow! I have two Samsung Smart TVs but neither is new. I think one is a 2011 model and the other is a 2013. Both of them have IR remotes.

Wonder when they switched to Bluetooth or if it’s only for specific models.

    • You’re sure that you can’t program it to use Samsung specific ir codes?

Maybe see if your TV will work with a generic universal ir remote, and if it does use that to program side click then return universal remote. (Or Samsung OEM ir remote.)

Someone I know has a Samsung TV with an optional Bluetooth remote, but the stock one was ir.

Thanks Elias… Picked up two in-store today. Didn’t want to wait until Thur. with free shipping. Not bad little remotes. Should save the original TV remotes from ware & tare. The only thing missing for us that use an OTA antenna for local programing is a way to be able to scroll favorites or actual channel numbers. Since I have over a 100 channels that are available OTA. But I mostly watch/scroll content on about 20-25 of them. But then a lot more buttons would be needed.

    • Wow, 100 OTA channels is insane. Super strong antenna, or dense market? Mind sharing the approximate location? (City or zip code?)

You need an ‘other-side-click’ with number pad. Ha.

It’s just a market filled with a ton of other languages & religious channels. My TV’s have the option for favorites. But you still need the arrow keys & enter to pick between them. I might just delete all the channels I know I don’t watch to shorten the scrolling time.

I do like the SideClick. Got used to it now. Just wish it had a couple of more buttons at least.

Thanks Elias! I went to Best buy to pick one up. Of course they had no idea what I was talking about and there were none on the shelves.
A helpful employee went online and ordered one for me (free shipping to my house.) Great deal!

Sale over? At the nearest location, the sideclicks were locked in a cage near a $29.99 sticker. Website seems to now show same price. But the Apple version is still at the sale price.

I’m looking at the website right now which is 4:48 p.m. Monday June 12th 2017 and the sideclick universal remote for Amazon Fire TV is showing as $24.99. This morning it was showing 29.99 so you might want to take a look and order one. If you have an order of $35 or more you get 2 Day free freight.
