Sideclick, the universal remote that attaches to the side of any Fire TV remote, is now available exclusively at Best Buy. Several people have asked me if I knew when the Sideclick would come back in stock at Amazon. While I don’t know the answer to that question, I can now tell you that the reason it’s out of stock everywhere is because, in order to get the Sideclick remote onto Best Buy’s shelves, the husband and wife team behind the successful Kickstarter project had to give Best Buy a period where they were the exclusive online retailers of the product. So, for the time being, Best Buy’s website is the only place you can buy the Sideclick remote. If you’re not familiar with the product, read my review. I’m a big fan of the Sideclick and it has had a permanent home on my main Fire TV in my livingroom.

That’s kind of a bummer. Hope the exclusivity isn’t too long. Seems weird not being able to by an accessory for an Amazon product through Amazon. :| I’ll be waiting for it to come back to Amazon before buying.
Thank you, Elias, for reporting on our Best Buy deal. It will be Q4 before the Fire TV and Roku kits are on Amazon so we hope people will scoop a Sideclick on Best Buy.com during the next few months. Getting on the shelves of Best Buy would be a big deal for our little company so we are hoping that this exclusive time while inconvenient for the Amazon loyalists will allow our company to grow and expand our product line. I love my sideclick! Early adopter and ordered 4 for family and friends that have both AFTV and ATV.
I use it daily and have been able to combine my Samsung TV, Vizio Soundbar and AFTV all in one small attractive unit. Before I needed to use all three remotes independently to watch something on Kodi. TV remote for power/source. Soundbar remote to turn on/volume up and down, and AFTV remote for the rest.
Sure other universal remotes are cheaper, but they aren’t made as well and they don’t fit seamlessly with the AFTV remote. Thank you sideclick for having a great idea and executing it flawlessly. Programming took about 2 minutes – super easy instructions and strong IR. It has survived minor droppage 18″ from the recliner to the rug. Haven’t had to replace the battery yet and it has been months.
Jenn from sideclick also gives great customer support and responds promptly. I can’t say enough good things about the product and company. It’s the only kickstarter product I have backed that I use daily.
