Select customers get $40 off the new 3rd-gen Fire TV Cube — Dropping it to just $99.99!

Amazon is offering select lucky customers $40 off pre-orders of the all-new 3rd-gen Fire TV Cube by entering promo code 4KCUBE during checkout. Once again, this is only for qualifying customers so it will likely not work for most people. Needless to say, at 29% off the regular price of $139.99, this is a fantastic deal considering the Fire TV Cube was just announced yesterday. I’ve asked Amazon for information on what makes someone qualify for this offer and will report back if I get a response. If you’re on the fence about buying the new Fire TV Cube, I say give the promo code a try and if it works for your account then I suggest placing your order before it’s too late and deciding later if you want the device. The new Fire TV Cube doesn’t ship until October 25th so even if you order now with this promotion, you’ll have nearly a month to decide if you want to cancel the order or not.

Well, it’s definitely not being a previous owner of Gen1 and Gen2 that qualifies you for this.

  2. Dean says:

This appears to not work if you choose one of the bundles (i.e. with the IR blaster).

I did qualify for the special price with the standard package. Oh wait, I want the one with the IR blaster. Nope, no deal. Switch back to the standard package (standard remote), and the price was back to the deal.

Then I remembered I probably have a leftover IR blaster from something else languishing in my cable drawer.

    Got one, thanks Elias!

I’ve tried this code on 4 different accounts. Two with prime and two without. Just the standard package for $139.99 Didn’t work. :(
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase. Bummer.

I actually did qualify for the deal, and decided not to pull the trigger. I simply can’t commit to anymore Amazon Fire TV products unless the confirm some kind of solution for Fire TV Recast customers. As an OTA user, thats a big issue for me. Amazon won’t play nice with the other OTA services and won’t integrate with their guide. I’m better off moving forward with another ecosystem.

I have a recast and it has a few issues, but still love it and use it as my main TV source. I however bought a new HDHOMERUN. It supports the new ATSC 3.0 which improves reception. It also fixes the problem i had with recording fox. Anyway, just wanted to let you know it integrates with FIRETV. YOu can run the HDHOMERUN app from firetv. I use it as my secondary Antenna TV source to my recast. LOVE THEM BOTH!

What issues do you have with recording on Fox? Just recorded the Lions game yesterday, (watched live but just as a backup), are there playback issues you have experienced?

    • Mickey Gosselin says:

I just recently got a Recast, what do you mean it doesn’t play nice with other OTA services? For reference, I just use an antenna+recast and a fire stick and haven’t had any issues yet.

I never owner a Cube, own Fire TV stick though, didn’t qualify

    No joy here!

  7. Greg says:

Ding ding ding what do we have for her johnny?

    :-) – I qualified.

I had to cancel my order from yesterday, where I applied for a trade-in on my 1st gen, but it all worked out OK.

Watch, they will offer a rebate on the Voice Remote Pro tomorrow.

    • Xiaolei says:

Can you still use the trade in 20% discount on top of the $40 off?

I just requested trade-in of my oldest fire tv box. I’m not sure if I should wait for 20% discount to be available, but the $40 off offer might not be valid by then. A bit of dilemma here, LOL..

      • Greg says:

Xiaolei – The trade-in came as a 14.00 gift card which I was able to use on the Voice Remote Pro.

        • Xiaolei says:

In addition to the gift card, did you also get a 20% off promotion towards new fire tv purchase? I’m curious if that can be combined with this $40 off offer.

          • Greg says:

Xiaolei – I did not, but I kinda screwed up my orders. My own fault if I didn’t. I ordered without a Pro remote. Canceled. Ordered WITH Pro remote. The next day, canceled and ordered with a 40.00 rebate…my own mess.

Just tried and worked for me. I have bought Cube 1 and Cube 2 before and many sticks.

  9. Robert says:

I haven’t owned a FireTV device since I had a Gen 2 with gamepad and Minecraft (i think?), and then bought a 4K stick and found out it wouldn’t play Minecraft. Anybody know if this new cube support Minecraft on it?

  10. Erik says:

Didn’t work for me in Germany either, tested on 3 accounts (two of them have Prime and did order previous generations of the Cube).

BUT I tried on my business account and got a different price than on the consumer accounts: €151 instead of €159… haha, I’ll probably wait till they get offered for 50% on some special deals day.

  11. Xiaolei says:

I got the code working. Can I combine this with 20% off from trade-ins?

  12. BruceB1013 says:

I just tried the code and it worked for me. No clue of the logic as I have an older version cube and a bunch of other fire devices, so it is not a new user code.

  13. Anthony says:

Code worked for me… previously purchased cube 1, 2, and firesticks. Also curious if this could be combined with the 20% trade in. There is a note indicating “Cannot be combined with other offers”… but not sure if that would exclude trade-ins or not.

  14. beefy says:

Might as well wait until Prime Day when they will be £59.

  15. Jared Luker says:

I’ve qualified for whatever reason, but I’ve been happy with the 4k stick, so I’m not sure when I’d want to drop a Benjamin on this.

  16. badbob001 says:

So any confirmation if this code works with a 20% discount code?

  17. hectare says:

Hmm….seems like waiting for the upcoming Prime Day deals is the most prudent plan. I want a new cube too (even tho my Gen2 is still meeting all my needs and performs well), but having to pay extra for the improved remote is a little annoying.

Guess we’ll see what options are avail next Monday

  18. mike says:

I want the new fire cube, but won’t be a buyer until they come down in price to at least $119 since you can now by the gen 2 for only $59.

  19. Mario says:

    Worked for me. Thank you!

    • Derick Moore says:

Missing here is information on what qualified “you” for the deal. Can you infer what made you (and others) qualify when many did not?

      • Bruce Berberich says:

I tried to figure that out, but unless it was a time between purchases I came up with nothing.

      • Mario Menezes says:

It was the Fire Cube only on pre-order.
