Fire TV Edition Television Rooting, Recovery, and ROM Guide: KingRoot Method

< Back to Fire TV Edition Television Software Version Selection

Fire TV Edition televisions running software version 5.2.5.0 can be rooted using a utility called KingRoot. You can learn more here and here. The most important to keep in mind is that there is no custom recovery or ROMs in the works for these TVs, so if you root, you will be unable to update to a newer software version without losing root.

Oh, one thing to note is that the kingroot app doesn’t like the remote. You will have to either use something like a USB/Bluetooth mouse, an app like cetusplay , or adb commands to actually root. :)
