A pre-rooted version of the latest Amazon Fire TV update, version 51.1.4.3, has been released. All previous pre-rooted ROMs have been released by rbox, but since he has skipped the last two software updates due to the lack of new features, a new developer by the name of realbbb has taken it upon himself to root the latest Fire TV update and release it to the world. This pre-rooted ROM was released a week ago, but I haven’t written a post about it until now because I wanted to make sure it was safe for everyone to use since it’s from a new creator. I’m happy to say that I’ve been using it for about a week and have had no issues with it. You can download it from my ROM page and install it in the usual manor through ClockworkMod. To be on the safe side, you should be on pre-rooted ROM version 51.1.4.1 before installing this ROM, since I do not know if there will be issues if you skip ahead to this release without first installing the previous versions. As with all pre-rooted ROMs, you must first be rooted to install this release, so it will not help you root an unrootable Fire TV. The purpose of this release is to allow rooted Fire TVs to updated to the latest software version without loosing root.
Any new benefits for this? Does this have windows Miracast?
This will install cleanly without removing my sideloaded apps and setups or no?
Yes, this will install without removing any apps or data.
It should be noted that you’ll probably have to re-enable Xposed framework and any modules after doing this, though.
Wohoo!! Can’t wait to go home and install this bad boy! Also, I second ActionA’s question. Will this delete sideloaded apps or anything at all?
Is rboxs boot menu required? That’s the one thing I haven’t attempted yet.
Yes it is:
-Boot Menu is REQUIRED to install this ROM.
-You MUST first install Pre-Rooted ROM version 51.1.4.0 before installing this version. To be safe, you should probably also first install 51.1.4.1.

-Released: 3/5/2015
Partial or Fully unlocked?
Does the bootloader have to be fully unlocked?
No,worked great for me with a partially unlocked bootloader
Hi Guys,
I just bought my AFTV from best buy yesterday, and updated to the latest version which is 51.1.4.3.
my question is, Can I Pre-Root 51.1.4.3 Fire TV Custom ROM?
thanks,
no
@Juan Why?
Uh…because the new update blocks root.
Return it. Buy new one and research how to root before turning the device on.
Have fun :)
@pdx unfortunately, the new one come 51.1.4.2!!
Look at Staples(ask to buy 3…so they bring them out and hopefully they bring out one with rootable software). Look for for serial numbers starting with 70900″302″, 70900″303″ or even 70900″305″(these have to be downgraded). It’s harder to get these now so your best bet would be ebay as there are still some being sold as new and with rootable software. Good luck!!!
Hi, I installed this latest custom rom,( first installed
boot menu and previous version of rom), after that I installed xposed frame work, to launch xbmc as my default launcher everything working great but I lost my root access and su. Please help me to regain access. Busybox was also installed and it is still there in my system.
I am able to boot into recovery.
What dod you mean you lost root access and su??? Are the apps still installed?? What happens when you try to launch towel root or superuser? I and some others have installed CWM and are on rooted 51.1.4.1_514013920 running rbox’s boot menu with a fully unlocked bootloader and towel root gives a error message(“your phone is not supported) and super su doesn’t even have an “launch application” option from the manage all apps menu. BUT device is still rooted and all apps that require su permission are auto granted. But its weird that towel root gives an error message and su can’t be launched from the manage all apps menu.
Thanks for your reply, ( I forgot to reply to my comment, there was no problem )
Yes the device is still rooted. I accidentally pressed file read only option in adbfire, and after that I am unable to access root.
I thought I lost my root.
I am on version 51.1.4.3_514020320.
The xposed framework working great so far.
