With the release of Amazon Fire TV software update version 51.1.3.0_user_513011820, rbox has created a pre-rooted custom ROM. You can download the pre-rooted image from the software hub and follow my guide to install it. Remember, you need ClockworkMod Custom Recovery on your Fire TV in order to install a custom ROM.
Is it worth to upgrade/update? I’m still on the last root able regular update and it’s working fine. All apps update and work with no problem, prime works too.
I have this update ,my question is any chance to root updatE ? thank you!
After I installed a pre rooted I lost access to the superuser app. Not sure what happened but I can’t open the app itself. I still get prompts to allow access just would like to open the app again
I ended up going back to stock 53.0.1.1 and every thing is working great anyone experience not being able to open the su app? It didn’t give me the option to launch application
I’m also wondering if the update is worth doing it. I’m still on the 53.0.1.1 rooted and everything works just fine.
I think this Version is mostly interesting for Germany with added German Prime Support, German language, etc.
So I can update to this Version when I have a already rooted older version but when I got this new Version already I can’t still root it (for the Moment), right?
Right, if your Fire TV updated to 51.1.3.0, then you cannot root it or install this version.
Do you think there will be a chance that this version WILL be rootable? Due to an unfortunate power outage during my rooting process, my DNS server did not start up in time for the FireTV on reboot after the power came back on to go to my secondary DNS (8.8.8.8 – Google) and hit the updateserver.
Now I’m stuck at version 51.1.3.0_user_513011820 without being able to continue the rooting process.
It’s always possible. But there’s no way to know for sure. I would keep updates blocked in the mean time since the older the software version, the more likely it will be rootable in the future.
can i upload this software when i have no root?
i have the german fire tv and i like to root this lil bitch :D
No, you cannot. You must first root to be able to install this version. Currently, there is no way to root the German Fire TVs as they come with the unrootable version 51.1.3.0
