As an owner of the Fire TV and the HDHomeRun Tuner I’d like to hear your thoughts on getting the same functionality on the Fire TV.
I know Silicon Dust is working on its own DVR solution, but as I understand it, its development has been lagging.

I have given up my firetv for the shield. It has a better launcher. I got tired of Amazon shoving there content into my face. I loved the firetv when Firestarter was a option. I love that the shield is a plex server has support for expandable storage through USB and network. I do like Alexa a bit more, but Google voice search brings back content from lex and spmc libraries.
Fire Tv 2 does passthrough to DTS-HD or decode it to PCM?
I guess, Fire TV 2 decodes DTS-HD to PCM. Why? I don’t know.

blueray ISOs are supported in MrMC. Decrypted only of course. Bluray Nav (menu support) is not present but main title will play fine.
