I am wondering if you would also consider adding a weekly list of new content available on Amazon Prime Video? Being cord-cutters and also Prime members, my wife and I get most of our TV content from Prime Video.

I got the update on my fire stick 1st gen. Is it possible to stream to bluetooth on 2 devices at once? Amazon told me no, but i was wondering if there was a workaround.
What xposed modules or other tweaks do we need to know about for rooted aftv2 boxes?
Also how do we get a working Google play store running with Android TV apps on rooted aftv?

Do you have a recommendation for an alternative to ES File Explorer? I find it more difficult to navigate than it should be when using the remote.
I primarily use it to retrieve apks from my NAS to sideload.
P.S. I still don’t have 5.05 on my 1st gen devices.
I have a first gen fire TV stick. I got the update last Friday but now it won’t hold a network connection so I cannot watch anything.
When I switch the input button on my TV to the stick, it has a connection because my photos are updated on the screensaver. But if we try to click on a prime video or Netflix it looses the connection. Also when I switch to any menu item on the home screen it loses the connection.
I’ve rebooted my modem & router at least ten times but that didn’t do anything. I’ve attached the HDMI extender for the first time ever but that didn’t do anything either.
I’m now a week without streaming so I turn it over to the master, Mr Saba.
As always, we all appreciate your help.
Have you tried reseting your stick back to factory default?
I hate recommending people to do that, but it’s something to try.
I’ve thought about it, even making a list of everything installed/used at the moment just in case. If Elias doesn’t have any tips then I’m not looking forward to Sunday’s factory reset, lol.
Are you powering from the tv’s usb…because you should draw power from an outlet…
I’ve been tapping power from the TV’s USB since Oct 2014 without issues. It’s worth a shot though since I dug out the box for the hdmi extender. Tx
Do you think leaving FireTV sticks turned off will hurt their chance to get the 5.05 update? I power my Sticks using my USB on my TV, which isn’t powered when my TV is off.
I periodically turn my TVs on and do a update check. But I’m starting to wonder if I’m hindering my chances to get the update.
I’m also powered by the TV USB. First gen stick too. Like you saw, I’ve got the update but with network issues.
It needs to be at least 1A usb port…so make sure you’re not using a .5A usb port. It’s really best to power from an outlet…
When CBS All-Access was released for Fire TV’s, we were told it required Fire OS 5. So I enrolled in the Developer Program so I could get Fire OS 5 on my first gen Fire TV. But even after I got my 1st gen FTV updated to Fos 5.0.3, there’s still no CBS All-Access available.
When Fos 5.0.5 finally arrives on my 1st gen FTV, will I finally be able to get CBS All-Access on it, or is 2nd generation hardware actually required?
Is the XBOX 360 wireless controller compatible with Firetv 2?
It works fine on FireTV1 but the FireTV2 does not recognize the remote USB dongle.
This is an issue I am interested in as well. I’ve had some luck using the xpad modules ((http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/development/ftv2-kernel-module-xbox-one-controller-t3272578))) for the firetv2, but it requires more prep and there are a lot of problems like the xpad not working at all. Very strange because my wired 3rd party controller works without any outside help at all…

Have you heard any stories of people using AFTVs in a business setting? I saw there is an app to allow you to use the AFTV for a digital sign display. Curious if you know of any apps/software that people have used together with AFTV in a business application.

When I mount my drive with Stickmount (latest Pro version), I find that the files aren’t readable and the drive isn’t writeable. ESFile explorer shows folders and files on the drive as an unknown file with a question mark.
As the guide is old, I thought maybe Stickmount wasn’t needed anymore. But I was wrong, after moving everything OK with foldermount, GTA was unable to load. It tried to download the files again, so it wasn’t recognising the symlink.
Any chance of updating the guide or do you know how to solve the issue? My drive in question is a 8GB pendrive, tried letting the FTV itself format it, triend windows FAT32 format and also tried EXT4 format. All to no avail.

That guide was for 1st gen fire tvs. What made you think it would work on 2nd gen which I think has a different file structure…

It should appear in your apps folder now. If it doesn’t it may be that you have purchased the Kodi Launcher app from Amazon App Store and you have to delete this from your amazon account and then resync amazon content in FTV settings. Llama method no longer works. I use Firestarter to Launch my Kodi.
Any ETA on RBox Pre-Rooted 5.0.5 for Fire TV/Stick 1?

I received FireOS 5 on all my firetv devices. I like they slimmed down menu UI. Is there anyway to make it so the app menu lines the apps up in a different way besides the side scrolling menu? Maybe a tile arrangement like on the Roku UI. It takes a long time to scroll through the 52 apps I have installed. Thanks
Apps are now tiled in the category section. Hopefully this is sign of things to come.

I can see kodi now directly in the my apps row. That’s cool. But I actually still prefer to work from firestarter. It’s much quicker.
Alexa works fine in Belguim besides the location based services. I can only set a US zip code so I get the weather in LA.
If I scan my network with Alexa for smart home devices he doesn’t find my WEMO smart plugs. Anything I can/try do to fix it?

I have a game that I moved to my aftv from my Android tablet. My Nyko PlayPad Pro doesn’t want to work with it. Do you think that a genuine Amazon game controller would give me the same results? Is there any way to map controller buttons so that these touchscreen games would work on the ftv?

Why aren’t we seeing more Apps / services such as CBS news (CBSN)? I think it has made strides since it first launched.
What features do you want on the next Fire TV stick? I want better Wifi (I currently use an FT2 when in hotels).

Can’t get hold of the seller anymore, is their anyway i can get rid of that pin lock.

Do you know if thermostats can be controlled by Amazon FS (2nd version)? Everything is set up in the Alexa app, but voice control to raise or lower temperature does not work through the fire stick. Thanks!
