NVIDIA showed off their big format gaming display (BFGD) a year ago at CES 2018 with the expectation that it would be released in the summer. The summer came and went but now HP has announced that it will be released in February for $4,999. While NVIDIA’s tech will power the display, multiple manufacturers are expected to create their own versions of the BFGD. HP’s Omen X Emperium 65 will be the first and it features a 144 Hz high refresh-rate 65-inch HDR panel with what is essentially a Shield TV built-in.
HP’s version of NVIDIA’s BFGD will feature G-Sync, that is accessible through its DisplayPort, and 4-millisecond gray-to-gray pixel response. It will come with a custom 120 watt soundbar that includes 3 stereo amps capable of both entertainment and gaming modes. It has 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, 802.11ac wireless, Gigabit Ethernet, and multiple USB ports.
Both Acer and Asus have said they too will release a BFGD with NVIDIA’s technology. Specifications for those displays have not been revealed.

$5K, whoa! Preferable to have display and source device separate I think.
Yeah. I don’t get the who this appeals to unless they integrate the entire TV OS with the Shield, similar to the Roku TV.
Nvidia is good with support but that’s still a gamble for a TV this expensive.

For that price it should have a high end gaming PC built-in.
Shield TV is the best but it’s not even a selling point at $5000.

Actually verycooll However @ $5k there are many better options out there … we are talkingvhighend tier tv’s and 70-82 flatscreen high end prices have been dropping. Again as Cool as it is I’d rarger spend $2-2500 on a high end tv and buy a external device . But again it’s really cool tech $ a great idea
