I had planned on doing the 139$ deal for a couple days, but today I had decided not to order, until this notice came out, I ended up out the door with Game Remote with this tip for $165.79

I am sure I will love the Speed and smoothness of it. I just dont know if I can get used to the phone interface after being used to Fire TV with everything laid out to see. I also use Apple TV 4K which is laid out to see. From what I have seen in video, the Shield is very phone app layout oriented. Thats what worries me.
Also, hate that DirecTV Now has no app.
I am sure as far as the Shield itself goes,, i’ll love the its speed and power! I also like Alexa over this stupid google home i have sitting unplugged because it cant control smart devices properly.
I have one already and saw this, canceled my $139 Amazon order and ordered this one instead. I’m very happy I got it.
If you have a fire TV, the new oreo UI on the Shield is very similar to the fireTV, but without any ads and you have more control of what’s on the screen than you do with the frieTV.
I really don’t know what people see wrong with it. It’s actually more customizable than the old UI

I had ZERO intention of buying a Shield TV, since I am a happy owner of 4 rooted FTV2s, but after over a year of reading about it, this post finally made me pull the trigger.
While it’s not the main reason I bought it, one of the things I’m looking forward to the most is setting it up so that I can see ALL of my media at once, which currently spans 2 drives. I wish FTV2 could see more than 1 drive, but I’ve always known that was not possible.
Can’t wait to see my wife’s eye rolls when she sees “another black box” attached to the TV (Along with FTV, ATV, Roku, WDTV, Nexus player, etc.)
