Actually go into your local best buy store and try to find on the shelf the 16GB Shield version to see if there’s a remote control pictured on the front of the box and if so confirm on the side of the box that under items included in box it lists the remote control. If it does take it to the register along with an extra game controller which will ring up as free under the current promotion. So for $199.99+applicable tax you’ll get a 16GB shield that includes(game controller and remote) + the free extra game controller(part of current promo). 16GB shield that includes remote control looks like this:

If you find the 16GB box pictured, it and an extra game controller will both ring up for $199.99. Good luck.

If they don’t have it on the shelf ask a customer service rep to check their on hand inventory to locate it for you. Also to see if your local best buy has the 16GB available in stock for local pick up use the best buy website to locate the 16GB version by entering your zipcode. If its available for pickup, head on over to your local store to see if they have it on the shelf…if not ask to check inventory in the back as online it shows in stock. I assume best buy has these as leftover old stock from a past promotion …which is great as it rings up as a regular 16GB shield without remote.

That wouldn’t work as the Nvidia with the remote has a different barcode than the one with just the controller, so the computer would say it’s not eligible for the promotion.

Where did you get the 4.4 out of 5 with 400 reviews? On Amazon I see 4.5 stars at over 1000 reviews. Seems like a decent unit… Tempted…

That’s rather stupid of them. It would make more sense to drop a remote as an alternative to a second controller. They would gain far more sales if they swapped the controller for a remote as there’s so many people who simply want to use its hardware power for seamless streaming of TV content. It’ll never replace the Xbox One or Playstation for gaming so needs to great a new kind of market
