Non-Voice Remote for Fire TV and Fire TV Stick available again after 2 month hiatus

The non-voice remote for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick has just come back in stock. This is the remote that ships with the original Fire TV Stick bundle. It has been out of stock for a little over two months now. If you need a replacement remote, and don’t have much use for Alexa, now’s the time to pick up the least expensive Fire TV remote while it’s available. The non-voice remote is the last Bluetooth based remote that Amazon offers, so if your voice remote or game controller have connection issues due to WiFi interference, this remote will be more stable.

I don’t know if it’s wifi interference or another issue but my latest Fire TV voice remote goes through batteries especially fast. At first I thought the Fire TV was forgetting the remote, but new batteries constantly brings it back into the fold.

Is there a way to monitor the remote or put it into sleep mode. I like having the voice activated option. Is there a way to tell the remote types by model or serial number (and where would that be)? With 3 Fire TVs and at least two Fire TV sticks, I have a number of remotes kicking around.

Down to one non-voice remote from two. Did anyone else have one of these non-voice remotes go unresponsive around the time of the OS5 update?
