Amazon describes the series, which is based on the 14 volume book series by Robert Jordan, as “Set in an epic fantasy world, The Wheel of Time follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young villagers, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn… the one who will either save or destroy humanity.” The series is set to debut on November 19th, 2021.

This is all well and good but I’d much rather Amazon focus it’s full attention to the “Lord of The Rings”. Arguably their most ambitious project yet. It’s taking waaay too long. I’ve read the production is wrought with problems and setbacks (unrelated to Covid). My theory, something like this is meant to tide subscribers over. Clearly of the same genre. I’ll watch it anyway…

Not familiar with the books, but nothing in this trailer excited me all that much.

Seeing that this series was coming inspired me to finally start reading the books. So far I’m enjoying them. I’m not always a big fan of fantasy but Jordan knows how to make it fun and exciting. With 14 long volumes in the series, I’ll be able to enjoy them for some time to come!

Although I also love LOTR, this show promises to be fresh and interesting.

Rand Al’Thor is actually the main character.

    Amazon going chick woke again.

    Pass.

Read the novels. They’re very good.

The prequel novel New Spring was pretty much all focused on women. Arguably the first 2 novels were focused not on Rand but on Egwene and Nynaeve tugging their braids in frustration. Heck, the premise of the novels is about the world being turned on its head and women being seen as symbols of power due to the way the magic systems was corrupted thousands of years past.

Also could easily be woke crap but I still have hope.

Amazon Prime recently did a tweet asking what movie people want rebooted with an all women. Amazon, like Netflix, has gone full blown woke.
