A new Windows utility, made by the guys at RootJunky, has been released to help simplify the process of manually upgrading or downgrading the Amazon Fire TV. To use the tool, your Fire TV must be rooted with BusyBox installed, and have ADB Debugging enabled. Once you’ve downloaded and extracted the files, you need to place the firmware .bin file in the extracted directory and rename it to update.zip. Then run the .bat file, enter your Fire TV’s IP address, and select the Firmware option. The utility will then prep the Fire TV, send the firmware file and start the installation. The creator has also put up a video walking you through the process.
