Buyers of the all-new Fire TV Stick 2 will receive several extra freebies. For starters, Amazon is giving buyers a $10 credit that can be used to purchase or rent content from Amazon Video. Customers will also receive 1 month of Sling TV, which is a nice bump up from the standard 7-day trial, and 2 months of Hulu, which is a big bump up from the regular 7-day trial. Once you activate the Fire TV Stick 2, you’ll receive an email from Amazon with promotional codes for all three freebies. The promotion ends October 31st, so be sure you setup and login to your new Fire TV Stick 2 prior to that date to receive the email from Amazon. The Hulu and Sling TV offers are for new customers of those services only, but the $10 Amazon Video credit is for everyone.
Are you still considered a new customer with Sling if you watched the debate with their free 18 hr event? I just purchased Hulu for $5.99 monthly for 1 yr.
No, I don’t think so. Although you could just use a different email address and probably be fine.
This new customer crap freebies need to stop. Really Google is the worse though buying a expensive Nexus phone saying you get 3 months of Play Music but “only for new subscribers” Really. At least Amazon gives you the $10 credit for everyone which is the right thing to do.
I agree. The $10 Amazon Video credit is the only real freebie here, which is why I put it in the title. I figured I might as well mention the extended Sling TV and Hulu trials while I’m at it, so I included those in the post as well.
I mostly wanted people who buy the new Fire TV Stick to be aware that they should set it up immediately because there’s only an 12 day window between when it arrives, on October 20th, and when this promo expires, on October 31st, that you have to get the free $10 credit.
Is the credit only usable for video purchases/rentals or can it be used for other things (i.e. from the app store would be more valuable to me)
