New Apps for the Week of November 1st thru the 7th

This week there were 24 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. There hasn't been anything too interesting when it comes to games this week, unless you're really into Blackjack or Brick Breaker. We did, on the other hand, see some interesting new entertainment apps, such as an official UFC app that lets you view live pay-per-view events. Also released this week was Feeln, an app from Hallmark which features many family friendly movies. MHz Choice is a new app with a selection of international mysteries, dramas & comedies. Lastly, if you're a Windows PC user, you may want to take a look at Remotr, which lets you stream your Windows games and desktop to your Fire TV. Read on for the full list of new apps and games that came out in the last week,

AFTV2 shows Tennis Channel under Notable Apps – but will not let me install it. Says, its not for this device. Weird!

Does Remotr only work on games or can we effectively mirror Windows to FTV with it? I’m at work so can’t try but psyched for the possibility in the complete absence of Fling news/progress from Amazon.

    • RgnKjnVA says:

Happy to report that it does mirror your desktop and you can use your FTV keyboard if you have one to control it though the resolution and audio could be better especially since this is intended for gaming. Settings left a bit to be desired in that regard but…it works, was easy to set up and it’s free. There are display ads though when you start it up. The ‘Pro’ version is probably higher res video and audio.

      • RgnKjnVA says:

Actually, the Pro version isn’t higher res. It just removes the display ads. I guess the app’s intended target screens would be hand-held devices not Fire TVs with 55″ screens.
