College basketball fans will be happy to hear that the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick have just gained the official NCAA March Madness app which will provide live streams of all tournament games. If you have a cable subscription, you can activate the app to watch all 67 games. Those of you without a cable subscription are not out of luck. The app’s description says all CBS games will stream live, for free, through the app without the need to activate. The app appears to require Fire OS 5, so 1st-gen Fire TV and older Fire TV Stick owners will need to be running software update 5.0.5 to install the app.
OK, no pressure on rbox. But now there is actually a reason for me to move to 5.0.5. If there is no preroot by next Wednesday, looks like I’ll be following some instructions here for unrooting and hopefully getting the official update quickly.
Yep
No xfinity support as usual. Man I hate Comcast.
So Comcast isn’t supporting this at all? I thought I couldn’t access it because I have Comcast internet only but was going to use a family sign on to use the app.
Today is a good day!
As the vitriol on Amazon’s review site grows, it is now undeniable:
THIS APP DOES NOT WORK ON THE FIRE TV OR STICK!
It’s officially another Amazon joke.
