For its Black Friday Sale, Amazon has the Luna Controller on sale for $39.99, which is 43% off its regular price of $69.99. This matches the lowest price that the Luna controller has ever been and is $10 less than last Black Friday. Even if you have zero interest in ever subscribing to Luna Cloud Gaming, you should seriously consider this deal. For starters, if you like to game and are a Prime member, then picking up this controller gives you the best way to play all the free monthly Luna games that Prime members get access to each month. Apart from Luna, this is just generally a great controller and easily the best one for Fire TV gaming of any kind. While it connects to Luna directly over WiFi for the lowest latency possible, it also connects to Fire TVs, Android phones/tablets, and Windows PCs over Bluetooth for regular non-Luna gaming. It can also connect over its USB-C port if you prefer to go wired, which comes with the advantage of not needing batteries since it can be powered over the USB connection. There’s also a Phone Clip for $14.99, if you’re interested, that can attach a phone to the controller.
Not at all familiar with Luna, but as a PC games controller, maybe. Problem I see is that it takes AA batteries. I would want a controller to be rechargeable, but then again I’ve hardly ever used a controller and maybe most of them take batteries?
The 3rd party ones often take batteries. I agree it’s a bit of a bummer the Luna controller isn’t rechargeable when plugged into a USB port. As a PC controller it’s good and comfortable though. It’s similar to the nintendo pro controller in looks and feels. Not bad overall for $40.
I have a Xbox bluetooth controller and it uses batteries and you are right, it eats energy as hell. To minimize a little the use of power i disable vibration in games. It may save some battery.
