The Logitech K400 Keyboard with built-in touchpad is back on sale for $19.97 on Amazon. That matches last week’s sale as the lowest price I’ve ever seen for this keyboard. It’s touted by many, including myself, to be the best Fire TV keyboard in this price range. This keyboard uses a USB dongle to connect to the 1st and 2nd generation Fire TV, so it will not work with the Fire TV Stick. All actions on the standard Fire TV remote, except for voice search, can be replicated with this keyboard. Note that, even though it is listed as the K400 keyboard, you will almost certainly receive the K400r, which is the better keyboard for Fire TV use.
Great keyboard. Anyone know how to efficiently “scroll” in something like Firefox? Arrow keys jump around a page, but it’s clunky and using the pad means moving the page a little bit at a time, unless it flies out of control, scrolling too far. For me, it’s so painful that I’ve given up browsing on the fireTV. Would a scroll wheel that translates to swipe be too much to ask? ;)
Two Fingers slide up and down should be the default gesture for scrolling. And from what I remember of the old “Windows 7” and earlier models of Logitech touchpads, they use hardware to interpret gestures as commands to send to the interface, not actual multi-touch. So, as long as the gesture is default in the Keyboard, it should send to the Fire TV as that command. No need for the Fire TV to understand the gesture.
Very nice keyboard. And im only about 80% but think i saw it at walmart today for that price… It was under $20 at least.
I can’t find any fault in this keyboard.
I’m getting another one as a backup , this keyboard is also good for your desktop.
Thanks Amazon sales team!
Works fine with my two AFTV Gen 1’s that I own, but the Gen 2, which I recently purchased, does not recognize/”see” the K400r and is not working in Prime or in Kodi…with or without the small receiver inserted into the extender. Any ideas from anyone out there?
My 2 AFTV’s(Gen1) used to support my wireless Gearhead,[prior]Logitech keyboards and mouse as well as wired keyboards. They will now only support the K400r. I’m already leaving the Gen 2 out of the discussion:). Any input would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
