You’re probably not familiar with Kaltura, but they’re one of those behind-the-scenes companies with a video distribution platform used by companies to more easily release video content. They’re customers range from media companies like HBO, NBCUniversal, and TMZ, to universities like Yale, USC, and Dartmouth. Well, they’ve developed and released an HTM5 based app for the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick for their customers to use. The app allows their corporate customers to easily release video apps with their content to Fire TV devices. The app is based on Amazon’s Web App Starter Kit for Fire TV released at the end of last year to help developers easily stream videos to Fire TV devices. With this new app from Kaltura, we should start to see their customers release video apps for the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.
