Prices for the various Fire TV Edition television models and sizes vary every week, but I only post about them when they reach all-time low prices. That’s the case with the Insignia 43″ 4K Fire TV Edition television which has just dropped to a new all-time low price of $199.99. The lowest it had ever been prior to this sale is $249.99. Other deals on Fire TV Edition televisions that are currently available include the Insignia 24″ 720p model for $99.99 and the Toshiba 49″ 1080p model for $249.99. Both of those deals match the lowest prices that we’ve seen in the past. The Insignia 55″ 4K model for $349.99, which I posted about last week, is also still available. That is a new all-time low price for the largest available Fire TV Edition television.
Why buy Insignia when you can get the Toshiba fire tv for same price? At Bestbuy;

Bought one for the kids during Super Bowl at this price. Good TV.
I think you are making the assumption Toshiba is better. Insignia is made (sometimes) by the same manufacturers who make Toshiba. Other times Insignia can be from the LG company. Also Toshiba isn’t made by the actual Toshiba company anymore, they licensed out the name to various other small manufacturers. I believe Toshiba is now only sold in the U.S. by Best Buy which makes some sense if they are made by the same manufacturers.
Everyone that uses the claim “they’re made in the same factory”, while true, seem to neglect the fact that they are made with different parts, designed to different specs.
I once took apart a cheap broken supermarket branded TV, turned out it was using a Samsung Panel which surprised me given the mediocre quality of the screen when it worked (at least compared to actual Samsung branded displays I’ve used).
Somewhat true, but why do we think the Toshiba named one is better than the insignia? They are often virtually the same with insignia sometimes with higher results. Don’t be fooled by the Toshiba name plate on the TV.

Give me an RCA flat panel any old day. You young whippersnappers don’t know bupkis.
