If you haven’t heard, Amazon is ending support for its Cloud Cam security camera in December, which will cause all cameras to stop working entirely. To make up for the relatively short lifespan of the camera, Amazon is giving Cloud Cam customers a free Blink Mini camera sometime between now and the end of the year. Something that Amazon left out of the email it sent to customers, which it shared with The Verge, is that free Blink Mini cameras will be given to customers that are “still actively using their Cloud Cam.” That likely means that simply having bought a Cloud Cam doesn’t ensure you’ll receive the free Blink Mini camera. So, if you have any Cloud Cams that aren’t powered on but want to ensure you receive the free camera, you might want to set them up and use them at least once a month until Amazon sends out instructions for how to receive the free Blink Mini cameras. It’s unclear if Amazon will be providing multiple free Blink Mini cameras for those that own multiple Cloud Cams.

Disappointing, the Cloud Cam worked great as a baby monitor on an echo show since the video stream would stay up indefinitely. Ring/Blink doesn’t work for that from what I’ve seen.

Replace $150 camera with a $30 camera, and end all use of the $150 camera and it’s free lifetime plan, that’s fair if you’re Amazon I guess.
Blink mini is far inferior to cloud cam. This is clearly a move to save them money and rip everyone off that has a camera.
The Blink mini isn’t half the camera that Amazon cloud cam was! I received a $30 camera to replace a $120 camera, how is that even fair. Please bring back the Cloud Cam!
