The 2018 Oscars will be hosted this year by Jimmy Kimmel and will be airing Sunday, March 4, at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on ABC. Red-carpet coverage begins at 5:30 pm ET / 3:30 pm PT. Here is how to watch the award ceremony on an Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition television.
Method 1: ABC App
If you live in the Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, or San Francisco area, you’ll be able to watch the Oscars live through the ABC app, however, you will need to activate the app with a participating TV provider.
Method 2: Internet TV Services
If you don’t have a cable subscription, the only other way to watch the Oscars on a Fire TV device is to use one of the available internet TV services. They all require subscriptions, but they all offer free trials if you want to just watch the Oscars and cancel afterward without paying. Be sure to check that your area has ABC available before signing up with a service.
Pass! They go political? I go to the next channel. Wonder how bad the ratings will tank this year?
