The Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons is this Sunday, February 5th at 6:30 pm ET. Watching the big game on the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick is as easy as installing and launching the free FOX Sports GO app. The game will be available to stream live and for free without needing to activate or authenticate the app with a cable provider. Seeing how the Super Bowl is the most watched event of the year, there may be unforeseen issues with the FOX Sports GO app stream, so read on if you’d like to know about alternative options.
The official NFL app for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick will also be streaming the game live. I’ve read mixed reports on whether the NFL app will require logging in with a cable or satellite service provider before granting access to the stream, but it’s worth trying if the FOX app has issues during the game.
If you’re a subscriber to Sling TV’s “Blue” package, you can watch the game through the Sling TV app if you live in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Detroit, Gainesville, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, or Washington, D.C.
If you’re a subscriber of DirecTV Now, you can watch the game through the DirecTV Now app if you live in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Detroit, Gainesville, L.A., Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.
If you’re a subscriber of PlayStation Vue, you can watch the game through the PlayStation Vue app if you live in Atlanta , Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Gainesville, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.
If all else fails, you can try an HD Antenna, which is a good thing to have around anyway as a backup, since they’ve become so inexpensive. For last-minute issues with the stream, Prime Now can usually get an antenna to you within an hour.
FOX Sports GO horrible. About half way through the game now, and its stuttered for a second or two about 5 times now. Sometimes during the commercials it just shows the Fox logo like they are still broadcasting, just not the commercial. Some commercials are loading, but they have a weird lag when they load and end.
I finally got sick of it and had to load up Kodi and use a non-foxTV addon to finish watching live. The CBS app last year was flawless. Good job Fox.
ironic that the superbowl was completely free from the official fox app, but you needed to watch a pirate stream to view
