Disney’s new live-action adaptation of Mulan is being made available today through Disney+ but, unfortunately, you won’t be able to simply load up the app and pay for the movie with just a few remote clicks, presumably, due to a disagreement between Amazon and Disney regarding revenue share. Thankfully, the movie isn’t being blocked outright and you can watch on an Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, or Fire TV Edition device as long as you pay for it elsewhere first. To start, you first need a Disney+ subscription which costs $6.99/month and does not currently offer any free trials. Once you’re a subscriber, log in here through a phone or computer and pay the $29.99 for Premiere Access to Mulan. Then you’ll be able to load up the Disney+ app on your Fire TV device and watch it all you want. Note that you are not paying $29.99 to own the movie, like you would if purchasing a digital movie through Amazon Video, Vudu, or iTunes. You are just paying to have access to it before it becomes available to all Disney+ subscribers on December 4th. This means that even if you pay $29.99 for Mulan, you’ll lose access to it if you end your Disney+ subscription.
Amazon and Disney+ have reached an agreement and Premiere Access to Mulan is now available to purchase directly within the Disney+ app on Fire TV devices.
