With the future of Kodi in jeopardy, and MrMC’s impressive new features, the app is looking more attractive than ever. However, I understand it’s difficult to justify the $5.99 price when Kodi is free and doing a great job. So here’s a way to get MrMC for free, if for nothing else, to have as a backup incase Kodi’s development stops, or worse.
Emails informing customers that their free $10 appstore credit has arrived have started rolling out for the promotion I posted earlier this week. Better yet, we now know you don’t have to actually download the game to get the $10. Of course, you can use the $10 promo credit to buy any app you’d like, but the credit expires 30 days after you receive it, so it’s best to have an app you want to buy in mind prior to receiving the credit, and MrMC is as good a choice as any.
To get MrMC for free:
- “Purchase” the game Hay Day for free. You can select “Cloud Only” when purchasing and you don’t have to actually install it.
- Wait for an email to arrive informing you that you’ve received the $10 appstore credit.
- Buy MrMC using dollars. Be sure to not use Amazon Coins if you have them, so that the promotional credit gets used. There is no indication that the promo credit is being applied when making the purchase, but you can see your order details afterwards to verify that the credit was used.

No, you can’t do that with Amazon’s promotional credits. They can only be used for what they’re specified for.

With that said, I really doubt Kodi for Android is in jeopardy. It is too widely used. It may become a paid app to get someone to maintain it, but I can’t believe it would disappear completely.

It’s not about disappearing, it’s about being maintained. Kodi on Android isn’t going anywhere. The current version could probably go a year without being updated before it started to matter. It’s just better knowing new features and bug fixes are constantly being worked on. That’s what might change for Kodi on Android.
The best way to add new features is to remove the one that lets the user or other parties add features. Then when you re-add those functions yourself, it seems new.
ive purchased the game on aug 2 when you first posted the promotion, but do not have a device to install it on so just put it in the cloud. However, I have still yet got any credits and never got the email either. Maybe i’ll get on the chat and see whats up

Please keep us all posted. I havn’t received an email yet either after 3 days waiting. I don’t have any compatible devices with the app so I wonder if that’s why there’s problems. I only have a couple firetv’s and no amazon tablets.

I just received my $10 credit 5 days after hayday order, but 1 day after I added a compatible device (by installing Amazon appstore on my Android tablet). So this might require a compatible for device to work.
I ordered Hay day on Aug 4th without downloading it, the $10 credit just showed up today.

Thanks for the tip. Downloaded it to my cloud for use later. Now I need to find something to spend $4 on. I plan on picking up another fire tv this fall. I’m sure there will be some good holiday discounts and put this on the new one to play around with.
I thought it was mentioned somewhere that the Hay Day promo credit could be used on any Digital product (App, movies, music or Kindle eBook), is that not the case?

Thanks. It worked for me. I tried it out but the interface is dated and clumsy. Oh well it was free anyways. I really wish the Fire TV had something more modern like the Infuse app on the Apple TV.
Followed the instructions on Thursday morning. Did not email for credit until Saturday afternoon. It does work though. Be patient. I also checked the balance for gift cards. It’s not listed. So I used 5.99 on Mr.MC, what can I get / should get for the remaining 4.01? Or is it even possible to use the difference.
Curious question: besides this & plex are there any other paid apps for firetv besides all of the stupid “screensavers”? Almost everything seems to be free apps that then require a subscription.

Took roughly 15 hours but the the promo page for it, says to allow for 48hours to recieve the promotion.
I received the credit pretty quickly, but when I went to purchase MrMC the compatibility section says it’s not compatible with my FireTV. Should I buy it anyway and try to install?
Could always sideload mrmc with a google play app apps 2 fire or the other apps like it. It is compatibility for my FireTv2
