The package name of an app or APK file is a unique name that identifies the app. For various reasons, it’s sometimes necessary to determine the package name of a Fire TV app. Here are several methods to quickly and easily determine the package name of any Fire TV or Firestick app.

If the app or APK is already installed:

If the app is already installed on your Fire TV, the easiest way to determine its package name is to use the System X-Ray bar built into every Fire TV. To do so, first, install and launch the Developer Tools Menu Loader Shortcut for free from the Amazon appstore.

Once the Developer Tools Menu is open, turn on the topmost option labeled System X-Ray. Doing so will cause a bar with information to appear at the top of the screen. Press the HOME or BACK button on your remote to dismiss the Developer Tools Menu.

Now simply launch the app that you want to determine the package name. While the app is open, look at the bottom center of the bar at the top of the screen to find the package name. In the example above, you can see that com.amazon.firebat is the package name of the Prime Video. Now that you have the package name you need, remove the System X-Ray bar by simply relaunching the Developer Tools Menu again and disabling the top option for System X-Ray.

If the app or APK is not installed:

If you have an APK file and want to know the package name without needing to first install it, you can do so by uploading the APK to https://www.sisik.eu/apk-tool. That tool will quickly read the APK and list its package name.
