HBO and Cinemax have just arrived as the latest new Amazon Channels. This marks the first time Cinemax content is being made available on the Fire TV. The HBO subscription will run you $14.99 per month, while Cinemax will cost $9.99 per month. Both subscriptions come with a 30-day free trial. The main advantage to subscribing through Amazon Channels, versus subscribing directly and using an app like HBO Now, is having all content natively available within the Fire TV interface and streamed directly by Amazon. Another perk is the incredibly simple 3-step online cancellation process, which makes managing subscriptions on a month-by-month basis easy, as well as having everything on a single bill. Amazon Channels have grown to over 80 different video subscriptions since the feature launched a year ago.
Do they have live streams like the Amazon Channels for Showtime and Starz do?
I’d really love to see Amazon incorporate the actual live channels for these “Amazon Channels” into the Amazon Video app across devices. When I have Showtime added to my Prime Video subscription, it’s nice to check out their live channels but I have to do that in a web browser on my computer. Not very convenient. Wish that could be done in the Amazon app on my TV, the same way you can watch the live Showtime channel within the Showtime app.
Looks like Amazon Channels will be launching in the UK and Germany soon.
