No, the Kasa bulb, when added to the cart thru Alexa, is .99 at the checkout page. You will NOT see the sale price anywhere else than there. It’s a no brainer for less than $5 shipped.

The two bulbs are not nearly the same. The TPlink bulb is Wifi and works with any assistant. The Sengled only works via bluetooth with certain echo devices. I run my stuff using a Google Home and a FireTV Cube and found out this is worthless to me as a smart bulb. Amazon also shut off all reviews for the Sengled bulb because the rating started to tank.
The Sengled bulb works with virtually every recent Amazon Echo device, with the exception of the 1st-gen Echo and the 1st-gen Echo Dot. From the Sengled support website: “Compatible devices include: Echo (2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen), Echo Dot (2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen), Echo Show (1st Gen), Echo Show 5/8/10, Echo Spot, Echo Input, Echo Flex, Echo Studio.”
There are also plenty of recent reviews for the bulb (https://www.amazon.com/Sengled-Changing-Bluetooth-Multicolor-Brightness/dp/B08TG5X172/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1), with at least 60 being posted in the last 10 days alone, the most recent of which were posted yesterday.
True that it works with most echo devices. I, however, bought it because I simply read it as working with “Alexa smart devices”. Since I control other devices, such as my tp-link smart outlets, using the Fire TV Cube and the Alexa app on my smart phone, I believed it would work. I don’t think it makes it clear that it must be used with an actual hub (echo device being the hub).
As for the reviews, the Q&A section if full of people complaining that they can’t leave a review. When I try to leave a review for the device, it takes me to a page that says, “Amazon has noticed unusual reviewing activity on this product. Due to this activity, we have limited this product to verified purchase reviews.” In reality, it seems that even verified purchases can no longer leave a review.
Okay, so I just took about five minutes and set up my Sengled bulb, and I am now able to control it via every Alexa-compatible device I own, including my Android phone, my Echo Shows, an ancient HD8 tablet, my Fire TV Cubes, my Fire TV Sticks, and a Eufy Genie (a cheap Echo Dot knock-off).
As to reviews being limited to verified purchasers, that is not at all uncommon and, at this time, appears to be applicable to all reviews, not just for this bulb. Again, there have been at least 60 reviews left for this bulb in the past 10 days, some positive, some not so positive, so the ability to actually leave a review has, obviously, not been disabled.

This is in addition to the kasa bulb for .99 cents from today’s earlier order.
Only issue to me is, they are different apps.

Is the Sengled 9w or 60w ? The product page is all over the place with conflicting information.
It consumes 9w but is a “60w-equivalent” bulb, meaning it produces the same amount of light as a 60w incandescent bulb

Nice! Managed to snag the Kasa bulb before it went OOS, and just now was able to order the Sengled bulb. Two smart bulbs for around $2.00 is a pretty sweet deal.

Yes, it’s fine to mix and match brands when it comes to smart home devices as long as they are both compatible with Alexa, as the bulbs and plugs in this post all are.
I got the Sengled bulb and it kind of sucks. The main reason is it’s bluetooth while the Kasa one is Wifi. For the price with the discount it’s ok but I couldnt get it to connect to Alexa or the Smartlife app no matter what I did. The only way I could get it to work was using the Sengled bluetooth app which it connected to right away. So for me, it’s usable but only using that app :-/
That’s what I was afraid of. I’ve tried a few bulbs (and other devices) from other companies and didn’t like any of them except the TP Link/Kasa ones. I have a few of those around the house. The other smart bulbs have been relegated to “dumb bulb” status. :)
Wow—at this point, I’m beginning to think that my quick, painless, and entirely successful setup of my Sengled bulb may make me the most fortunate owner ever, merely because it works as advertised. And to think that all I did was follow the instructions, the first of which was an Alexa command to “find my devices,” which Alexa did, followed by the opening of the Alexa app to finalize the very quick and easy setup process.
That said, and given the nature of the beast, I am also entertaining the idea that it is a certainty that one must be smarter than a smart bulb in order to configure one and use it successfully—just sayin’.
